The Nintendo Switch is now over seven years old and in need of a refresh, even if the popular console maker isn’t chasing tech specs like its rival. Rumors of a Nintendo Switch 2 (again, I’d bet real money it won’t be called that) have been circulating for years. Sometimes they teased DLSS, NVIDIA’s “deep learning supersampling” upscaling technology to add polish and higher resolution to existing Switch games. Other times, rumors simply stopped at an OLED Switch – the same as the original console.
Will it be something like the Wii? Another left turn in terms of consoles? Or something evolutionary like the Wii U or GameBoy Color. It’s unlikely the company will abandon the hybrid form-factor as it effectively ties together home and portable consoles – and that’s probably a big reason for the Switch’s success.
We’re expecting it to be backwards compatible with the Switch’s game library, while Nintendo’s account system management should make it easier than ever to swap between console generations. Crucially, when will it launch? While this is mostly speculation, Nintendo’s next console could arrive in March 2025, but treat this with the necessary levels of skepticism.
We’ve collected all the reports, leaks, and rumors right here.
Adobe’s Firefly AI video generation tools will arrive in beta later this year. Like many things related to AI, the examples are equally mesmerizing and scary as the company slowly integrates the tools it’s built to automate much of the creative work done by people who buy its software. The company, of course, reiterates that these tools are complementary. Of course!
Even as Fox News and senior Republican figures acknowledged that Vice President Kamala Harris won Tuesday night’s presidential debate, some supporters of former President Trump are pursuing the same old conspiracy theories: an earpiece used during the debate.
The story dates back to 2012, with the same allegations leveled at President Joe Biden in 2020, Hillary Clinton in 2016 and Barack Obama in 2012. However, the findings of internet detectives were limited to a Kickstarter startup called Nova and an earring-style earpiece that never progressed beyond vaporware. We sort out the nonsense.
